She was named First Team All-MWC in the 3-meter event, placing third at the 2006 MWC Championships. She also placed 14th in both the 1-meter and platform events. Her conference performance was even more spectacular considering she missed a month of diving prior to the meet with injury. She was an NCAA Zone "E" Diving qualifier. Entering her senior year, she holds the third highest score in the 3-meter (6 dives), 3-meter (11 dives) and platform (6 dives) events in Wyoming diving history. She was also a great student and was named Academic All-MWC for the second consecutive season. She earned her third UW letter award. Sophomore- Haapanen qualified for the 2005 NCAA Zone "E" Diving Championships for the second consecutive season where she finished 19th on the 3-meter board, 23rd on the 1-meter and 24th on the platform board. She was a Second Team All-MWC selection in the 3-meter springboard after placing eighth at the MWC Championships. She also dove to an 11th place finish in 1-meter competition at conference. She earned her second letter award and was a MWC Academic All-Conference selection. Freshman- She made a huge impact on the diving board as a true freshman. She placed 15th on the platform board, 21st on the 1-meter board and 22nd on the 3-meter board at the 2004 NCAA Zone "E" Championships. She placed third on the 1-meter board, sixth on the 3-meter board and eighth on the platform at the 2004 MWC Championships. High School: An Ontario Provincial Diving Medalist. She qualified and attended Canadian Junior and Senior Nationals. Personal: Born July 28, 1984 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She is the daughter of Ken and Mervi Haapanen.
