Summary

Biography

Junior: As a junior, Jones continued to build on her outstanding career at Wyoming by earning MWC All-Conference and breaking two Wyoming records. At the 2008 MWC Championships Jones helped earn fourth place in both the 400 Free Relay and 800 Free Relay. Both of these times were first in school history and fifth and sixth in MWC history respectively. Individually Jones placed seventh in the 200 back, and eighth in the 200, and 500 free at the conference championships. Those three times moved Jones into the record books at UW. The 200 back, and 200 Free are fourth all time at UW, and the 500 free time is third all time. Academically Jones also excelled as a junior and earned Academic All-Conference.

Sophomore: Following her sophomore season, Jones was selected as a team captain by her teammates. As a sophomore, she made huge improvements which was best illustrated by her performance at the UC Irvine Invite. In the 1650 freestyle, Jones set a personal best time in the 1650 freestyle by more than 30 seconds. She also placed second in the event which was her highest career finish in an invite. She was named the Mountain West Conference's Swimmer of the Week for her accomplishments at the invite. She also competed in every meet during the season, including the 2007 MWC Championships, and earned her second letter award. She received Academic All-MWC honors for the second consecutive season.

Freshman: Jones had a solid freshman season for the Cowgirls. She competed in the 2006 MWC Championships, swimming both the 200 freestyle and 200 backstroke. She had a good year academically and was named Academic All-MWC. She earned her first letter award.

High School: Jones was team captain and a three-time all conference selection. She was a conference champion and MVP and was under All-America consideration. She was a four-year letter winner in swimming as well as a national honor society member.

Personal: Born June 5, 1987 in Loveland, Colo. She is one of four children to Steve Jones and Linda Washecka. Her older brother Dan was a four-year letterman for the Cowboy swim team from 2004-07 and her younger sister Carol is a freshman for the Cowgirl swim team this season. She is majoring in business administration.
