Hometown Biography Summary Biography Junior (2016-17): Swam his fastest times of the season in three different races at the WAC Championships… Finished 79th in the 100 freestyle clocking a 47.55… Logged a time of 1:42.72 in the 200 freestyle to finish 52nd… Placed 41st in the 500 freestyle, logging a time of 4:37.28. Sophmore (2015-16): Brinkman opened his sophomore season in the dual against Denver. He competed in the 100 free (49.96) and the 200 free (1:47.44) for the Pokes. Brinkman claimed a sixth place finish in the 200 free (1:45.09) in the upset over No. 14 Utah. Freshman (2014-15): Brinkman's rookie season with UW got off to a great start. Competing against Air Force, Brinkman finished eighth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.83. He also finished eighth against Denver in October in the 200 freestyle with a mark of 1:49.92 and ninth in the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 25.32. Competing against Denver in January, Brinkman finished sixth in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:39.10. He finished fourth in the 200 freestyle against Colorado School of Mines with a time of 1:49.03. High School: Graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School. Earned All-State, All-Area and All-Catholic league honors all four years of high school. Served as the team captain during his junior and senior season. Excelled in the classroom earning USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honors. Personal: Son of Martin and Lisa Brinkman. Has three siblings, Annemarie, Joseph and Clare. Annemarie competed in swimming at Hillsdale College. Joseph swam at the UNiversity of the Cumberlands and is now a national team assistant coach at the Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics-Cardinal site and a volunteer assistant coach for Stanford's men's swimming and iving team.
