He will look to continue to improve on the one and three meter springboards as he placed in the top five on each last season. At Wyoming: Junior: (2009-10)- Murdock continued his already outstanding Cowboy career with a first-place finish and two top four finishes in all three diving events at the MWC championships. Murdock set MWC and UW school record with his score of 427.90 on his way to a first-place finish on the platform. Murdock placed third on the 3-meter springboard with a score of 371.80. He also placed fourth on the 1-meter spring board with a score of 333.10. His scores allowed him to compete at the NCAA Zone `E' Diving championships where he recorded two top ten finishes and one top 15 finish. Murdock dove well at the NCAA Zone `E' meet placing 9th on the platform with a score of 593.40, his score of 577.30 placed him 10th on the 1-meter springboard. He placed 12th at the Zone 'E' diving meet on the 3-meter board with a score of 592.75. As well as competing at the 2010 Zone `E' championships, Murdock competed at the AT&T National Diving Championships on the platform over the summer of 2010. In the preliminary rounds Murdock placed 16th, qualifying him for the final round of the championships. Murdock dove exceptional in the final round with a score of 406.45, which was good enough for a seventh-place finish. Sophomore: (2008-09)- Murdock continued his success on the diving boards for the Cowboys as a sophomore. At the 2009 MWC Championships, Murdock placed second on platform, third in 3-meter, and eighth on 1-meter. Murdock broke the school record in the preliminary round on platform dive with a score of 346.45 and set the third best score in school history on 3-meter. He qualified for the NCAA Zone `E' Championships and placed eighth on platform, 10th on 3-meter, and 19th on 1-meter. Murdock continued to dive over the summer at the national level. In the final round of the U.S. Senior Nationals, Murdock placed 12th on platform and pre-qualified for the next year's competition. Along with his second letter award, Murdock earned Academic All-Conference for the first time in his career. Freshman: (2007-08)-Murdock played a huge role in Wyoming having the most diving points at the 2008 MWC Championships. He won second place in the 3-meter, fourth in the platform, and fifth in the 1-meter. Murdock took part in the NCAA Zone `E' Championships, placing 15th in the 3-meter, and 21st in 1-meter dives. Murdock led the way for the Cowboys with a 14th-place finish on platform. High School: Murdock is both an accomplished diver and gymnast and competed in the US National gymnastics meet in the spring of 2007. In the pool, he was a district champion and the district diver of the year as a junior and senior. He was also a region champion as a senior and placed third at regionals as a junior. He received an NISCA All-America Award and was a TISCA All-State diver as a junior. He was the Marcus High School Most Valuable Diver all four years of his career. He placed third at the district meet as a freshman and sophomore. He was a member of the National Art Honor Society. He dove club for Grapevine Colleyville. Personal: He was born on June 7, 1989 in Grapevine, Texas. He is the son of Julie and Rob and has two brothers, Michael and Matthew. He is majoring in social sciences.
