Sophomore: Fruhwirth continued her success at UW by posting the best time in school history in the 200 breaststroke. The time of 2:16.86 was good enough for second at the 2008 MWC Championships and the seventh fastest time in MWC history in that event. She placed sixth in the 100 breaststroke at conference championships and competed in the 200 IM. Her successful season earned her All Conference for the second year in a row.

Freshman: Fruhwirth had a great freshman season for the Cowgirls and excelled in the breaststroke events. Her season was highlighted with First Team All-MWC honors in the 200 breaststroke. In that event, she placed fourth at the 2007 MWC Championships with a time of 2:20.50, the fifth fastest time in UW history. She also placed tenth in the 100 breaststroke at conference. Her run at conference was even more spectacular considering she had to have her appendix taken out just a few weeks prior to the meet. She swam the second fastest time of the season for the Cowgirls in both breaststroke events. She excelled in the classroom and was named Academic All-MWC. She earned her first UW letter award.

High School: Fruhwirth was a Colorado All-State Honorable Mention selection following her senior year. She was an All-Denver Public League swimmer all four years of her career. She holds the John F. Kennedy High School records in the 100 breaststroke, 200 IM and as a member of the 200 freestyle relay. She was a four-year letterwinner in swimming and also lettered in golf as a freshman and sophomore. She was also a member of the JFK High School Honor Roll.

Personal: She was born on December 19, 1987 in Denver, Colo. She is the daughter of Loren and Jill and has an older brother, Jeff. She is majoring in nursing at Wyoming. Top Times at UW: 100 breast-1:05.30; 200 breast-2:16.86; 200 IM-2:09.28; 400 IM-4:41.92.
