Biography

At Wyoming:
Junior- Fogel had a spectacular junior season that was highlighted by a MWC Championship in the 200 butterfly. After placing second in the event as a freshman and third as a sophomore, he won the conference championship by swimming to a time of 1:48.17. He subsequently earned First Team All-MWC honors in the event. He also placed eighth in the 100 butterfly and swam on the 200 and 400 medley and 800 freestyle relays at the 2006 MWC Championships. He also won the 200 butterfly at the 2005 Notre Dame Invite, among some of the top teams in the nation. He is a two-time team captain as he was selected to lead the Cowboys as both a junior and senior. He continued to excel in the classroom and was named Academic All-MWC for the third consecutive year. He earned his third letter award.
Sophomore- Fogel placed third in the 200 butterfly at the 2005 MWC Championships with a UW record time of 1:47.10. He also earned a top-five finish for UW by placing fourth in the 500 freestyle. He put in an eighth place effort in the 100 butterfly at the championships as well. He was named to the MWC First Team in the 200 butterfly and to the Second Team in the 500 freestyle. He earned his second Academic All-MWC selection and became a two-time letterwinner at Wyoming.
Freshman- He placed second in the 200 butterfly, fifth in the 500 freestyle and 16th in the 200 freestyle at the 2004 MWC Championships. He also swam on the 800 freestyle relay team at conference.

High School: Fogel placed second in the 200 butterfly at the 2001 Maccabi Games (Jewish Olympics). He placed 11th in the 200 butterfly and 26th in the 100 butterfly at the 2000 Junior European Championships. He placed 16th in the 200 fly and 31st in the 100 fly at the 1999 Junior European Championships.

Personal: Born July 15, 1982 in Haifa, Israel. He is the son of Stefan and Eva Fogel. He is majoring in accounting.
