Summary

Biography

Freshman: (2010-11)- Naik proved himself as a freshman for the Cowboys, swimming his way into two top-six finishes at the Mountain West Championships. His best finish came in the 200 butterfly, placing third with the second-fastest Cowboy time of 1:48.91. He earned his first All-MW award for his finish in the 200 fly. Naik also placed sixth in the 400 individual medley at the conference championships. During the regular season, he placed first in the 200 fly at the Nebraska-North Dakota Triangular. He excelled in the classroom receiving Academic All-MW honors while earning his first letter as a Cowboy.

High School: During his junior and senior years, Naik accumulated many awards and records at Heritage Hall High School. He was named Oklahoma Swimmer of the Year and the Oklahoma Athlete of the Year. On his way to an individual state championship, he was also named All-American, All-State, and All-City during the 2009-10 swim season. He excelled in the classroom as well as in the pool, being named Academic All-American and graduated as a member of National Honor Society.

Personal: Naik was born on April 13, 1992 in Saskatoon, Canada. He is the son of Kam and Jocelyn, and has a younger brother, Naresh. He is majoring in calculus at UW.
