Summary

Biography

Junior: Highlighted by great finishes at the 2008 MWC Championships, Bell continued his success for the Cowboys. His help in the relay events for the team earned Wyoming a second place finish in the 400 medley relay, fourth in the 200 free realy, and two finishes at fifth place in the 800 free relay (anchored) and the 400 free relay (led-off). Individualy, Bell finished seventh in the 200 free at conference with a time of 1:38.87. With that time Bell set the second fastest time in that event at Wyoming. He earned his third letter award, and was named to the MWC All Conference team. Bell was also selected for the Academic All Conference team.

Sophomore: Bell had another great season for the Cowboys. His season was highlighted by earning First Team All-MWC honors in the 400 medley relay. Bell anchored that relay which placed third at the MWC Championships. He also anchored the 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relays at conference. Individually, he placed tenth in the 100 freestyle, 11th in the 200 freestyle and 16th in the 500 freestyle. He was also an Academic All-Conference selection for the second season in a row. He earned his second letter award.

Freshman: Bell made great contributions to the Cowboys as a freshman. He placed seventh in the 200 freestyle, 11th in the 500 freestyle and 15th in the 100 freestyle at the 2006 MWC Championships. He also swam on four relays at conference, the 200 medley and 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relays. He swam the Cowboys fastest time in the 100 freestyle, the second fastest time in the 200 freestyle and the third fastest 500 freestyle during the season. He excelled academically and was named Academic All-MWC. He earned his first Wyoming letter award.

High School: Bell earned conference MVP honors and was an All-State selection as a senior. He was a high school All-American in both the 100 and 200 freestyles. He was named All-Conference all four years of high school and was a four-time letter winner. He was an Academic All-America selection as a senior.

Personal: Born December 27, 1986 in Greeley, Colo. His parents are Gail and Scott Bell and he has two older brothers Seth and Levi. Levi is a senior captain on the UW swim team. Eli is majoring in geography.
