Biography

Junior: Larkin had a great season for the Cowboys again, and also top finishes at the 2008 MWC Championships. Larkin had three second place finishes in the 100 breast, 200 breast, and the 400 medley relay. He was also on the 200 medley relay team that finished fourth at the conference championships. He was named to his second MWC All Conference selection, and was MWC Academic All Conference. He earned his third letter award.

Sophomore: Larkin had another great season which was highlighted by his second Mountain West Conference breaststroke championship. He won the 100 conference title for the first time in his career with an NCAA "B" Qualifying time of 54.50, the third best time in UW history. He placed second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:58.54, which was also a provisional qualifying time and is also the third best time in school history. His championship in the 100 means that a Cowboy swimmer has won nine of the last 12 MWC breaststroke titles. He also swam the breaststroke on the both medley relays at conference. He earned First Team All-MWC honors in both breaststroke events as well as the 400 medley relay. Larkin will compete in the U.S. Olympic Trials in the summer of 2008. He was an Academic All-Conference selection for the second consecutive year and earned his second letter award.

Freshman: Larkin had a spectacular freshman season for the Cowboys. His season was highlighted by winning the MWC Championship in the 200 breaststroke. By winning the event, he continued a tradition of breaststroke excellence at Wyoming. The win marked the fifth consecutive year that a UW swimmer won the conference 200 breaststroke title as Scott Usher won it in each of the prior four years. He also placed third in the 100 breaststroke event at the 2006 MWC Championships. He earned First Team All-MWC honors in both breaststroke events. He also swam on both medley relay teams at conference. His time in the 200 breaststroke was a provisional NCAA qualifying time but did not get drawn into the championships. He entered the UW record books in both breaststroke events turning in the third fastest time in school history in the 200 and the fourth fastest time in the 100. In the summer of 2006, he competed in the ConocoPhillips National Championships where he placed 22nd in the 200 and 26th in the 100 against the top swimmers in the country. He excelled in the classroom and was named Academic All-MWC. He earned his first letter award.
