Summary

Biography

Freshman: Verbrugghe added depth to the roster in the spring freestyle events. He had his best times early in the season. He was sixth on the roster in the 50 free, and fifth in the 100 fly.

High School: Verbrugghe was named First Team All-KingCo League all four years of his career. As a senior, he won a league title in the 200 IM and 500 freestyle, was a district champion in the 100 butterfly and placed second in the 50 freestyle at districts. At the Washington State Championships, he placed third in the 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 medley relay. As a junior he placed fourth in the 50 freestyle at state, was under All-America consideration and competed in the Junior National Championships. He was also an IronMan Award winner after qualifying for state in every event as a junior. He was the Issaquah most valuable swimmer as a sophomore, junior and senior. He also received scholar athlete awards and was a team captain.

Personal: He was born on August 23, 1988 in Seattle, Wash. He is the son of Nicole and Christian and has a younger brother, Julien. He is undecided on a college major.
