Senior (2014-15): In her last season as a Cowgirl, Carlson won numerous events for Wyoming. She won two events in the opening dual of senior season against Mountain West rival New Mexico. She took home the 200 butterfly with a mark of 2:09.28 and the 200 individual medley with a time 2:09.86. Carlson took home the final event for the Cowgirls against Cal Poly and won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:08.28. She won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:05.61 against UC Santa Barbara. Carlson picked up two wins against New Mexico State by winning the 200 free with a mark of 1:56.36 and also the 100 free with 52.93. She won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:09.18 against Air Force. At the MW Championships, Carlson finished 11th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.19. For the fourth time in her career, Carlson was named to the All-MW team.

Junior (2013-14): Carlson established herself as one the Cowgirls most versatile swimmers during her junior season. She earned All-Mountain West honors in the 200 butterfly for the second time in her career. In the event at the MW Championship she finished second for the second straight season with a season-best mark of 1:59.38. Carlson also scored points for the Cowgirls at the MW Championship in the 100 butterfly finishing ninth with a career-best time of 53.85. Her mark in the event was the second fastest time in Cowgirl history. Carlson also competed in the 100 freestyle during the season earning a first-place finishing in the event against UIC with a season-best time of 52.39. During the MW Championships she also swam in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:02.65 finish 14th.

Sophomore: (2012-13): Carlson continued to make an impact for the Cowgirls during her sophomore season. She earned All-Mountain West accolades after a strong performance at the Mountain West Championships, as she placed in the top-eight in three events. She swam a personal-best of 1:59.32 in the 200 butterfly to earn a second-place finish, as her mark was the second fastest in Cowgirl history. At the MW Championships, she also recorded personal-bests in the 100 butterfly (54.39) and placed eighth in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:01.84., a mark that ranks third in Cowgirl history. She opened her season with wins in the first three events of the season; against Air Force Academy (200 butterfly - 2:06.27), North Colorado (200 freestyle - 1:56.97) and Denver (100 butterfly - 57.73). Carlson was also part of the Cowgirls 400 freestyle relay team that finished second at both the UNLV and Boise State dual.

Redshirt Freshman (2011-12): After sitting out her freshman season due to injury, Carlson came in and made an immediate impact for the Cowgirls. At the Mountain West Championships she placed in the top 10 of three separate individual events. Her best finish came in the 200 butterfly placing fourth with a time of 2:00.36. In the 100 fly at the conference championships, she touched the wall in eighth place with a time of 55.30. Her third top-10 finish came in the 200 individual medley, finishing 10th with a time of 2:02.98. For her efforts at the MW Championships she earned her first two All-MW honors in the 100 and 200 butterfly. At the Houston Cougar Classic, Carlson had another excellent meet in the butterfly events. She finished the 200 fly in second place with a time of 2:08.32. Also in Houston, she took ninth in the 100 fly touching the wall with a time of 56.59. In the last home dual of the season against Colorado State, she took first place in the 100 fly (58.06) and second in the 200 fly (2:08.32).

Freshman: (2010-11): Redshirted due to injury.

High School: Carlson was an excellent swimmer, proving to be one of the fastest in her high school. She was selected 5A All-State in the state of Texas all four years of high school. She was a six-time All-America recipient. Carlson was team captain of her high school team her junior and senior years. She held almost every record at Claudia Taylor Johnson High School, and was the first member of her high school team to compete at a state event. In the classroom she was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with honors.

Personal: She was born on Sept. 25, 1991 in San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Birgit and David Carlson. Carlson has three siblings, Erik, Nikolas and her twin Christian. She is majoring in family and consumer sciences.
