Biography

UW This Season: Smith looks to add to her already impressive career as a Cowgirl diver. She will be hoping to build from her strong junior year and place again at the Mountain West Conference Championships, as well as the NCAA Zone `E' diving championships.

At Wyoming: Junior: (2009-10)- Smith's junior diving campaign for the Cowgirls was very successful including two top eight finishes at the MWC championships. Smith placed fourth on the 3-meter springboard at the MWC championships and eighth on the 1-meter spring board. Her top eight finishes at the MWC allowed her to compete at the NCAA Zone `E' diving championships where she placed 14th on the 1-meter springboard. Sophomore: (2008-09)- In her sophomore season, Smith played a key role for the Cowgirl divers. Her season was highlighted at the 2009 MWC Championships with a fifth-place finish on the 1-meter springboard. Smith also finished 10th on platform and earned First Team All-MWC after the meet. Smith qualified for the NCAA Zone `E' Championships and came back with a 12th-place finish in the final round on the platform event. Smith earned her second letter award and also earned Academic All-Conference and Scholar Athlete award honors. Freshman: (2007-08)- As a freshman, Smith competed in 12 events for the Cowgirls including the MWC Championships in Oklahoma City, OK. Smith also had a great year in the classroom. She was Academic All-Conference, and earned the Scholar-Athlete Award with a 4.0 GPA.

High School: Smith placed fifth in the 1-meter event in the Utah State Championship meet in 2006. She was a Utah All-State diver all four years of high school and was a team captain as a sophomore and senior. She holds the Alta High School record in the 1-meter (11 dives) event with a score of 442.55. She qualified for the 2007 West Junior National Championships after placing fifth in Region 10 in the 1-meter event. She was also a Junior National alternate in the 3-meter event after placing ninth in Region 10. She was a member of the Alta Honor Roll and was an Academic All-State selection as a senior. She competed for the Tuck Diving Club.

Personal: She was born on Nov. 24, 1989 in Columbus, Ohio. She is the daughter of Cindy and David and has an older sister, Ashley. She is majoring in mathematics.
