Kelly had a solid freshman season for the Cowgirls in 2009, she gained valuable experience in the Hammer Throw and 20lb Weight Throw events which will help her score at the conference meet in the future. She was ranked second and third in the weight throw and hammer throw respectively among freshman in the conference in '09.
