2016-17: Posted four top-five finishes in the shot put indoors, with his best performance coming at the Rocky Mountain Classic, where he won the shot put with a new personal best of 56-0.5…took 10^th in the shot put at the MW indoor championships, throwing 51-8.5…turned in five top-five finishes between the shot put and discus during the outdoor season…took second in the shot put at the Mark Faldmo Invite with a new outdoor personal best of 55-2…tossed a season-best 169-6 in the discus at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate…placed ninth in the discus at the MW outdoor championships with a mark of 153-4…earned a point for the Cowboys in the shot put at the MW outdoor championships, taking eighth at 52-10…in the classroom, earned Academic All-Mountain West honors.
 
2015-16: Specialized in the shot put indoors, taking second at the Rocky Mountain Classic with an indoor PR of 54-2.75…finished 11th at the MW indoor championships, throwing 49-1.5…threw over 50 feet in six indoor meets…outdoors, posted top-five finishes in nine individual events…won the shot put at the Tom Benich Classic with a throw of 52-9.5, an outdoor PR…placed 10th in the shot put at the MW outdoor championships, throwing 52-1.25…had a breakout performance in the discus throw at the MW outdoor championships, scoring for UW with a fifth-place finish at 174-7, demolishing his PR and finishing just outside UW’s all-time top 10 list for the event…advanced to the NCAA West Prelim in the discus, taking 40th with a toss of 160-9.
 
2014-15: Indoors competed in six meets...notched a personal-best 53-11 3/4 in the shot put at the Air Force Team Challenge on Feb. 6 to place second...placed ninth in the event at the MW Championships...outdoors threw in eight meets...posted a personal-best 167-5 in the discus at the Jack Christiansen Invite on April 25...placed eighth in the event at the MW Championships...also placed 12th in the shot put at the conference meet.
 
Before Wyoming: One of the top athletes in the state in his recruiting class...in his career won three 3A state titles in the discus and two in the shot put...also set a class record in the shot with a throw of 59-5...owned personal bests of 179-7 in the discus and 59-6 in the shot...helped Powell win three-straight state football titles while playing defensive end, fullback, wide receiver and tight end...was named a first-team Super 25 selection as a senior...also played basketball for Powell...coached by Nevin Jacobs in track.
 
Personal: The son of Greg and Glenda Lynch...has one sister, Kelsey Hooper...his father played football at Nebraska...also recruited by Colorado State and Kansas...majoring in petroleum engineering at UW.
