Biography

2016-17: Was a part of the Cowboys’ indoor 4x400-meter relay team that set a program record with a time of 3:13.46 to take third place and earn all-MW honors at the MW indoor championships…was a staple on the Cowboys’ 4x100-meter relay squad all outdoor season, helping the Cowboys win the event at four meets…at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, helped the Cowboys accomplish the No. 3 outdoor 4x100-meter relay time in UW history at 40.60…took seventh in the 400-meter dash at the MW outdoor championships, clocking 48.68, while also running on UW’s 4x100-meter relay team that took sixth at the meet…in the classroom, earned Academic All-Mountain West and MW Scholar Athlete honors.
 
2015-16: Competed at two meets indoors and two meets outdoors…placed third in the 200-meter dash at the Powder River Dual indoors, clocking a time of 22.81…finished sixth in the 400-meter dash at the CSU Dual, clocking a time of 49.41…took 11th in the 400-meter dash at the MW outdoor championships, finishing in 50.05…also ran for UW’s sixth-place 4x400-meter relay team at the conference meet.
 
2014-15: A member of four 4x400 relays that ran all-time top 10 marks in Wyoming history during the season...indoors was a member of UW's 4x400 relay at the MW Championships that ran 3:14.69, the third fastest time in school history...outdoors helped the Cowboys run 3:10.43 at the Cowpoke Open on May 1, the second-fastest 4x400 relay in school history...ran a personal-best 48.10 in the 400 meters and 22.18 in the 200 meters...named MW Academic All-Conference and a MW Scholar Athlete in the classroom.
 
Before Wyoming: A letterwinner in track, football and basketball who was a finalist for South Dakota Athlete of the Year as a senior...owned personal bests of 10.79 in the 100 meters, 22.20 in the 200 meters and 49.67 in the 400 meters...did not compete at the state outdoor meet as a senior due to an illness...entered the meet ranked third in the 200 meters and was a member of the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400-meter relays that ranked in the top five in the state...as a junior finished fifth in the 200 meters and helped the 4x400-meter relay to second place....in track and on the basketball court, earned academic all-state honors as a senior...coached by Paul Hendry...in the classroom was a member of National Honor Society...also was on the honor roll all four years.
 
Personal: Son of Mike and Kari Blackett...has two brothers, Cole and Sam...majoring in math & science at Wyoming.
