2008-09... John was a consistent jumper for the Cowboys in 2008-09 as he finished in the top-five in 12 of 13 meets he competed in. He finished fourth at the indoor and outdoor Mountain West Conference Championships in the long jump and triple jump. Academically he was named to the All-Conference team for the third straight year.

2007-08... John had a very successful 2007-08 campaign as he qualified for the regional meet in the triple jump as well as being named to the All-MWC team during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. Bringing his total to four All-Conference selections, as well as being named to the Academic team for the second time.

2006-07... John was an All-Conference selection in the triple jump and long jump; he finished third in the long jump at the Outdoor MWC Championships. He also placed second in the triple jump at the Indoor Championships with a leap of 48' 3/4". John earned Academic All-Conference honors for the first time.

2005-06... John redshirted during the indoor season and participated during the outdoor season.

High School... John was a three-year letterman in football and track. He set school records in the 4x100m, the long jump and the triple jump.

Personal... John was born June 2, in Boulder, Colo. His parents are Nanci and Dave Alderson.
