Summary

Biography

2008-09... Emily earned her second letter during the cross country season, as she placed 25th at the MWC Championships with her time of 22:40. During the indoor track and field season she ran her personal best time in the 5,000-meter run and ninth-best all-time in UW history while at the Big12/MWC Challenge. While running the 10,000-meter run at the outdoor MWC Championships she once again ran the ninth-best time in UW history with her time of 37:52.76. Academically, Emily was named to the MWC All-Academic team during both semesters as well as earning the Scholar Athlete Award in the fall and spring.

2007-08... A letter winner during the cross country season as she placed 33rd in the MWC Championships with her time of 23:12 in the 6k race. Emily started coming on late in the Outdoor season as she placed sixth in the 3,000-meter run at the John Jacobs Invitational held in Norman, Okla. She also set her personal best in the 10,000-meter run at the MWC Championships in Fort Worth, Tex., with a 16th place finish and a time of 39:04.61. For her academic achievements, Emily was selected to the MWC academic All-Conference team during the fall and spring semesters. She was also honored with the Scholar Athlete award in cross country.

High School... Emily lettered for Laramie High School in cross country, indoor and outdoor track her senior year. Byra was the outstanding female athlete of the year and a member of the Laramie High School Quarterback Club.

Personal... Emily was born Oct. 9, in Pittsburgh, Pa. She is the daughter of Mark and Adelle and has one younger sister, Maddie. She intends to major in pharmacy here at UW.
