2007-08... Joi ran a personal best in the 100-meter dash at the Rob Upton Invitational with a time of 12.88 and a fourth place finish. She also ran a personal best in the 200-meter dash at the First Annual Front Range Invitational with a time of 26.96, food for ninth place in front of the home crowd in Laramie, Wyo. Academically, Joi was honored as an Academic All-Mountain West Conference award.

2006-07... At the Jack Christiansen Invite, Joi ran her personal best time of 13.13 in the 100m. She looks to improve on her 12th place finish in the 60m dash at the Air Force Invite. Her accomplishments in the classroom rewarded her with an Academic All-Conference selection.

2005-06... Her freshman year, Smith placed seventh at the Wyoming Invite in the 200m where she ran a 27.25.

High School... Joi lettered four times in both track and field and gymnastics at Thornton H.S. She was All-Conference three years in track and named the sprinter of the year her senior year.

Personal... Joi was born Sept. 26th, 1986 in Denver, Colo. She is majoring in molecular biology here at the University.
