Career Stats Career Statistics Biography Summary Biography UW This Season: Hayes will see the field extensively this fall, ending the 2014 spring drills as the backup at the boundary cornerback position on the final depth chart.2013: Hayes started eight games and played in 11 as a true freshman cornerback. He responded with 36 tackles and six pass breakups, second among all Cowboys. He played a great game versus Hawai'i with seven tackles and his first career interception.High School: Hayes came to Wyoming from Crespi Carmelite High School in Encino, Calif. The Los Angeles native earned First Team All-Sierra League as a running back his senior season. He helped lead Crespi to an 8-2 record in 2012, while being named his team's Most Valuable Player. He had 32 carries for 485 yards and scored five touchdowns his senior season. On defense, he was credited with 45 tackles, intercepted four passes and had six pass breakups. He earned Time Warner Player of the Game honors versus Alemany, as he rushed 20 times for 168 yards and three touchdowns, while also intercepting a pass to lead Crespi to a 29-27 victory. Hayes' final TD run of the night was a 75-yarder. Hayes was also named the Defensive Player of the Week for his performance versus Taft. He played for head football coach Jon Mack.Personal: Born Dec. 13, 1994, Hayes is the youngest of three children of Antoinette and Timothy Hayes. He has two cousins who played college football and currently play in the NFL. Those two cousins are running back Reggie Bush, of USC and currently the Detroit Lions, and defensive end D'Aundre Reed, who played at the University of Arizona and is currently a member of the Minnesota Vikings. Hayes was also recruited by California, New Mexico State, Oregon State and Utah. He is undecided on a major at UW.
