Biography

UW This Season: Adjusting to a new blocking scheme was a smooth transition for Jones, who finished spring drills as the top right guard on the depth chart.

2013: Jones paved the way for 2,285 yards on the ground for the UW offense, a healthy 5.1-yards-per-carry average. The Pokes scored 21 TDs rushing for the season. Jones and his teammates blocked well versus Hawai'i as UW rolled up 793 yards of offense. Against New Mexico, Wyoming rolled its way to 285 rush yards and four scores on the ground. For the second-straight year, he was named to the Academic All-Conference team for his work in the classroom.

2012: A 12-game starter, Jones earned his place among the linemen early and kept it throughout the season. He and the Cowboy offensive line paved the way for 526 total yards of offense versus Toledo. UW averaged 265 yards passing per game and 390 yards of offense per game. Jones and the Pokes were stellar in run blocking versus Air Force, posting 252 yards on the ground. He was named to the Academic All-Conference team for maintaining a 3.56 GPA in math.

2011: Redshirted.

High School: Jones was named First Team All-State Class 5A by The Denver Post his senior season at Lakewood High School. Class 5A is the largest classification in Colorado. He also was named All-Conference both as an offensive and defensive lineman as a senior, and earned Honorable Mention Academic All-State. Jones was credited with 110 pancake blocks his senior year. He led Lakewood High to an 8-2 record and the first round of the state playoffs. A four-year letterwinner in football and track and field, he was the Colorado state champion in the shot put at the 2011 state track and field meet. His junior year he placed ninth at the state championships in the discus and 10th in the shot put. As a sophomore, he earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors, was named his team's Lineman of the Year and was an Honorable Mention Academic All-State selection. He played for head football coach Mark Robinson at Lakewood High.

Personal: The son of Linda and Bill Jones, he has one older brother, Ransom, and one younger sister, Emily. Jones was also recruited by Air Force and Oregon State. He is pursuing a degree in mathematics at UW.
