Biography

UW This Season: Justin Martin is a versatile member of Wyoming’s special teams. He has served as a kick-off specialist and back-up punter during his college career. He will compete for kickoff duties for the Pokes in 2016. 

2015:
Did not record any statistics.

2014:
Redshirted.

2013:
Martin played in five games as the kickoff specialist. He had 25 kicks for 1,504 yards for an average of 60.2 yards. He tallied 12 touchbacks. 

2012:
Martin became a special-teams weapon for the Pokes in 2012, as the kickoff specialist pinned teams deep early and often. Over 59 kickoffs, he averaged nearly 61 yards per boot. The average starting field position for opponents after Martin’s kicks was the 26-yard line. He tallied 26 touchbacks. While earning his first letter, Martin was named to the Academic All-Mountain West team for keeping a 3.0 GPA. 

High School:
Martin played three sports for Oakdale High, lettering in football, baseball and basketball. His baseball team earned a state crown three times, and the football team advanced to the finals in his junior and senior season. He was named All-League and All-District two times in his high school football career. Martin also was an AP Scholar in 2011-12 and was earned the Mustang of the Year award in 2012 from Oakdale High. 

Personal:
Born Jan. 28, 1994, he is the son of Bret and Cheri Martin. He has one sibling, Garrett. He is majoring in animal and vet science at UW.
