Biography

UW This Season: Lange hopes to contribute this fall, finishing the 2014 spring drills as the No. 2 left defensive end on the final depth chart.

2013: Lange moved to defensive end for his junior season but did not play in any games.

2012: With two starts at H-back over 12 games, Lange was a key component to the UW offensive attack. Serving as a lead blocker and protector, he helped the Pokes tally 1,502 yards on the ground in 2012. He was a very effective receiver as well, catching two passes for nine yards. Each grab was for a touchdown, as he scored versus Toledo and Fresno State.

2011: Lange had quite a journey in the offseason, as the coaching staff had planned to move him from defensive end to defensive tackle. That changed in the fall, when he moved to H-Back and began focusing on being a lead blocker. Lange played in all 13 games, starting three versus Texas State, Air Force and Temple in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl at H-back. Lange helped four Wyoming players reach more than 300 yards rushing in 2011, including Brett Smith (710), Alvester Alexander (695), Ghaali Muhammad (379) and Brandon Miller with 364.

2010: Redshirted.

High School: Lange came to Wyoming as the No. 13 ranked recruit in the state of Colorado by Rivals.com. He also earned Honorable Mention All-State Class 5A honors from The Denver Post in 2009. As a senior at Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colo., Lange recorded 135 tackles, including 15 sacks and 20 tackles for losses. On offense, he was the starting fullback, scoring six touchdowns. A team captain in 2009, he helped lead Ponderosa to a 6-4 record and the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs. As a junior, he was credited with 137 tackles, nine sacks and 10 tackles for losses, while earning all-conference honors as a linebacker. Lange played for the South Squad in the 2010 Colorado High School Coaches' Association All-State Game at the University of Northern Colorado campus in Greeley. He played for head coach Randy Huff at Ponderosa High.

Personal: Born Nov. 15, 1991, he is one of three children of Diane and Steve Lange. He was also recruited by Colorado, Colorado State, Kansas State, Oregon State and TCU. He is pursuing a degree in sociology at UW.
