Biography

UW This Season: Claiborne will head into fall camp as the top Z receiver on the depth chart for the Pokes after a strong spring showing. He should handle all the punt return duties for special teams, as well.

2013: Claiborne finished fourth among UW players with 33 grabs for 452 yards and five scores. He averaged 13.7 yards per catch and had a 71-yard TD reception versus Hawai'i. Claiborne also served as the team's main kick returners, with 16 returns for 293 yards with a long of 33. He began the season with seven catches for 88 yards and two TDs versus Nebraska.

2012: Claiborne had a breakout season at the NCAA FBS level after transferring from Tyler Community College in Texas. A nine-game starter, he caught 34 passes (third on the team) for 490 yards, and made a great leaping catch in the endzone in overtime against Idaho to give Wyoming a victory. He returned two punts for 66 yards, with a long of 37.

Junior College: Tyler Junior College advanced to the conference championship in Claiborne's lone season playing there, and he finished with 30 catches for 330 yards and six touchdowns.

High School: Claiborne was a three-year letterwinner in football and basketball, and lettered two years in track. He was named to the All-State squad his junior and senior years and was the district newcomer of the year in his sophomore season. Carthage High School won the state title each season in which Claiborne was a contributor. He also was an honor roll student each season.

Personal: Born Feb. 24, 1993, he is the son of Earl and Alice Claiborne. He is pursuing a degree in communications at UW.
