He was the Mountain West runner-up in the 200 butterfly with a Cowboy season best time of 1:48.73. He placed fourth in the 500 freestyle and fifth in the 200 free at the conference championships. His 500 freestyle time of 4:26.02 was the fastest time for the Cowboys in 2010-11 and the fourth fastest all-time for UW. For his three top-five finishes he earned All-MW for the first time in the freestyle events and third consecutive time in the 200 fly. He earned his third letter award for the Pokes. He also earned Academic All-MW honors.Sophomore: (2009-10): Kybartas improved greatly from his freshman season, making another big impact for the Cowboys at the 2010 Mountain West Championships. He was a member of the 800 freestyle, 200 and 400 medley relay teams that all placed in the top four at the conference championships. All three of the relay teams Kybartas was a part of put themselves in the top-10 of all-time Cowboy time lists. The 200 medley relay team put itself in third place with a time of 1:29.82. The 800 freestyle relay teams' time of 6:39.28 was good enough to put them fourth all-time for the Cowboys. Finally, the 400 medley relay team put itself in fifth place on the Cowboy all-time list with a time of 3:17.94. Kybartas also had an excellent individual meet, placing third in the 200 fly with a time of 1:49.93.Freshman: (2008-09): Kybartas made a huge impact for the Cowboys as a freshman, especially at the 2009 MW Championships. His highest finish came in the 200 butterfly, in which he placed fifth. Kybartas' time proved to be the fastest of any other Cowboy in school history. He also placed 11th in the 100 butterfly and 12th in the 100 backstroke. Along with his first letter award, Kybartas was First Team All-MW in the 200 butterfly. Kybartas also earned academic awards by being named Academic All-MW.High School: Kybartas came to Wyoming after being one of the top high school swimmers in Arizona. He was a team captain his junior year and was a 4A state champion in the 100 fly, 100 back, 200 and 400 medley relays. He was also awarded with the Sabino Swimmer of the Year and the Tucson Citizen Swimmer of the Year. He was a member of National Honor Society, a four-year honor roll member, and a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American for three years.Personal: He was born on Oct. 23, 1989 in Mesa, Ariz. He is the son of Marlys and Edmund Kybartas and has two siblings, E.K. and Erika.
