Summary

Biography

UW This Season: Gardner was solid with a nice spring game. He will add depth to the running back position. 

2016: Added depth to the Cowboys, but did not record any statistics.

2015:
Redshirted.

High School:
Gardner was a Third Team All-State selection and a Second Team All-Metro honoree by the Minneapolis Star Tribune as a senior.  He was also named the 2014 St. Paul City Conference Player of the Year while playing for St. Paul Central High School.  He rushed for over 1,000 yards his senior season.  During his junior and senior seasons, he scored 53 touchdowns and was credited with more than 250 tackles as a linebacker.  During his high school career, he helped lead the Minutemen to the St. Paul City League title each year. In April of 2015, Gardner became the first recipient of the newly created Stacy Robinson Leadership Award presented by the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation to the Minnesota high school football senior who best exemplified leadership. He was elected a team captain his junior and senior seasons. One of Gardner’s highlights from high school was in a victory over Highland Park High School where he scored five touchdowns in a 64-33 win for his Central High team.  He also played basketball and ran track.  He played for head football coach Scott Howell.
