The following day, she took second in the 1,000 against New Mexico with a time of 10:41.45. She then brough home another victory in the 1,000 free on senior night against Border War rival Colorado State. She helped UW come away with it’s first-ever victory over a Pac-12 opponent in Arizona State, as she placed second in the 1,000 free (10:28.86) and sixth in the 500 free (5:12.49). Junior (2014-15): Hlavacek once again made a big impact for the Cowgirls as a junior. She took home the 1,000 freestyle with a mark of 10:36.62 during the opening dual of the season against MW rival New Mexico. She won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:04.15 to help the Cowgirls defeat the defending WAC Champion Northern Arizona and also won the 500 free against New Mexico State with a time of 5:07.28. Hlavacek continued her dominance against NMSU by winning the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:21.88. She helped the Cowgirls get off to a fast start against Denver as she again won the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:33.87. And against UC Santa Barbara, she won the 1,000 free with a time of 10:19.81. At the MW Championships, Hlavacek finished fifth in the 1,650 free to open the meet with a final time of 16:35.41, it also broke the Wyoming school record. She was selected for the All-MW team for her performance in the 1,650 freestyle event. Sophomore (2013-14): Hlavacek competed in every meet for the Cowgirls in her sophomore season. She earned All-Mountain West honors in the 1,650 freestyle after finishing in fifth-place with a season-best time of 16:37.57, just short of her personal best time. She also scored points for the Cowgirls in the 500 freestyle finishing 11th with a season-best time of 4:53.20. Hlavacek earned a first-place finish with a season-best time of 10:21.60 in the 1,000 freestyle against UIC. She also earned wins in the 1,000 freestyle in duals against UNLV, Nevada, Colorado State and New Mexico. Freshman: (2012-13): Hlavacek made an instant impact for the Cowgirls in her first season with UW. She earned All-Mountain West Conference honors in the 500 freestyle and 1,650 freestyle. In the 500 freestyle, she finished eighth with a time of 4:54.39, a personal-best time. In the 1,650 freestyle, She finished fourth with a school record and personal-best time of 16:37.16. At the MW Championships, she also broke a school record in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 9:59.40. She finished the season with eight event titles. Hlavacek participated in the 2013 USA Swimming National Open Water Select Camp over the summer as she was one of 12 swimmers to be selected and the first ever Wyoming swimmer selected to the camp. High School: Hlavacek is a four-time letterwinner at Thompson Valley High School in Loveland, Colo., and joins the Cowgirls to swim distance freestyle. She was a four-time All-Conference and All-State honoree. She helped lead Thompson Valley to three-consecutive state championships. At the 2012 State Championship meet she became the first-ever Loveland native to break five minutes in the 500 freestyle finishing second with a time of 4:59.89. She also finished third in the 200 freestyle at the 2012 state meet. She held the Thompson Valley and Loveland 500 freestyle record after that meet. She is a two-time Northern Conference champion in the 500 freestyle. Her final two seasons she was named swimmer of the year and earned All-Area honors. She is also a Junior National Qualifier in the 800 and 1500 freestyles. At the 2012 Speedo Sectional Championships she placed second in the 1500 free. She was a four-year member of her school's honor roll and graduated with an Honors Diploma. Personal: Hlavacek was born on May 28, 1994 in Loveland, Colo. She is the daughter of Jerry and Tawny and has two brothers, Alan and Eric. She is majoring in pre-pharmacy at UW.
