She also swam in the Border War meet against CSU, and brought home a fifth place finish in the 100 fly (1:00.26), while also swimming in the 200 free (1:59.57).High School: Ruiz is a native of Vernon Hills, Ill. Her best events are the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle and the 100 and 200 butterfly. She was named team captain at Stevenson High School. She helped her team to three conference championships and two sectional championships. She competed at USA Swimming's Junior National Championships on relays.
