Biography

Junior (2015-16): Rooker had a very successful first season with Wyoming. He ended his junior season as the UW record holder in the 100 breast (53.17), and additionally was named All-WAC in the 100 and 200 breast. At the WAC Championships, Rooker placed second in the 100 breast (53.17) and fourth in the 200 breast (1:57.77). He also was a part of both the 200 and 400 medley relay team at the championships. He won the 50 breast in his first meet as a Poke against Denver with a time of 25.90, before he placed second in the 100 breast (54.45) at the Purdue Invite. Rooker was a key member that helped UW upset No. 14 Utah in early December. He won both the 100 (54.68) and 200 breast (2:02.05). He also won both the 100 (54.52) and 200 breast (2:00.13) events against Pac-12 member Arizona State and against UNLV as well. He had times of 54.49 and 1:59.53 in the 100 and 200 breast, respectively, against the Rebels. 

Prior to UW: Rooker transferred to the University of Wyoming from Louisiana State University. He earned two varsity letters and competed for the Tigers in the SEC Championships twice. Rooker was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team after finishing as the highest ranked freshman in the 100 breaststroke at the SEC Championships. He finished 16th overall in the 200 breaststroke at the Championships as a sophomore.

Personal: Rooker was born March 30, 1994 in Forest Grove, Ore. He is the son of Greg and Vandie Rooker and four siblings, Daniel, Jonathan, Sharon and Prudence.
