LAS VEGAS (Nov. 3, 2026) – Cowboy swimmers junior Antonie Pieterse and freshman Marcel Jureko swept the Mountain West men's swim weekly awards, the league office announced Tuesday.
Antonie Pieterse
Pieterse, a transfer from Division II Roberts Wesleyan, won all four events he swam in last week against Utah to win Mountain West Men's Swimmer of the Week. He won the most events in the MW last week, doing so with personal bests by at least a second in each race. Every time Pieterse swam at the meet was a Wyoming best of the season. He also now holds the fastest 100-yard butterfly time in the MW this season.
Marcel Jureko
Jureko, from Elblag, Poland, picked up his first collegiate win last week in the dual against Utah to win Mountain West Men's Freshman of the Week. His winning time of 1:59.36 in the 200-yard breaststroke now ranks as the fastest in the MW this season. He swam personal bests in the 100 and 200 Breast, doing so by defeating several upperclassmen in said events. In the conference this season, Jureko holds the second-best freshman time in the 100 Breast and the third-best freshman time in the 50 Breast.
In the weeks the Cowboys have swum, they've won every Swimmer of the Week award and two of the three Freshman of the Week awards. Winners this season are as follows:
