He took 16th overall in the 100 free (45.58) and was also a member of the fourth-place 400 free relay team for UW at the championships. In the dual against UNLV, Carter took second in the 50 free (20.52), after claiming the 50 free against Pac-12 member Arizona State with a time of 20.28. He also won the event in helping UW upset No. 14 Utah as he finished with a mark of 20.70. Carter again claimed the victory in the 50 free (21.10) against Denver, just before winning the 50 free against LSU with a mark of 23.36. Junior (2014-15): Carter had an impressive meet against Denver in January as he was a part of the 400 freestyle relay team that won and he also added a victory for the Pokes in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.92. He won the 50 free against Denver in October with the same time of 20.92. He was a part of both the 200 freestyle and 400 medley relay teams that won against Cal Poly. At the WAC Championships, Carter was a part of the fourth place 400 freestyle relay team. Carter was named to the ALL-WAC Academic Team. Sophomore (2013-14): Carter had an impressive sophomore season for the Cowboys establishing himself as one of the go to swimmers in sprints and relay events. He earned All-Western Athletic Conference honors in the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle. He helped the 200 freestyle relay team finish third in the race with a school record time of 1:19.55. He would later help the 400 freestyle relay team finish third with a school record time of 2:55.84. He also scored team points for the Cowboys at the WAC championships in the 50 freestyle with a career best time of 20.38, as he tied for 11th place. His mark in the event is the fourth fastest time in Wyoming history. He recorded a season-best time of 47.45 in the preliminaries of the 100 freestyle at the WAC Championships. Freshman: (2012-13): Carter had an impressive freshman season for the Cowboys in 2012-13. He helped the Cowboys set a school record in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 2:56.76 at the 2013 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, as the Cowboys finished third in the event. Carter also helped the 400 freestyle relay team to trio of top-three finishes including a first-place finish against Air Force, Seattle and North Dakota. He recorded a personal-best time of 45.20 in the 100 freestyle at the MPSF Championships, as he finished 11th . Carter swam a career-best time of 20.75 in the 50 freestyle at the Houston Invitational. He recorded a first-place finish in the 50 freestyle at the Air Force Academy Invite. High School: Carter joins the Cowboys as a sprint freestyle swimmer from Chatfield Senior High School in Littleton, Colo. He was a four-time letterwinner in swimming and lettered one season in cross country. During this sophomore, junior and senior season he was named his swim team's captain. He also earned All-Conference honors those three seasons. While swimming in high school and club, Carter earned Junior and Senior National qualifying times. He also excelled in the classroom earning honor roll all four years of high school. Personal: Carter was born on June 23, 1994 in Littleton, Colo. He is the son of Gerard and Connie and has one younger sister, Abby. He was also recruited by the Air Force and Naval Academies, as well as, Texas A&M. Carter is majoring in Wildlife & Fisheries/Biology at Wyoming.
