Career Stats Career Statistics Biography Summary Biography UW This Season: Kody Sutton certainly will have the opportunity to become a feature of the UW offense this fall, and is listed as the No. 2 back behind Brandon Miller. 2011: The Cowboy coaching staff originally had planned to redshirt Sutton, but injuries in the Cowboy backfield provided the speedy freshman an opportunity to play in his first year on campus. Sutton played in five games at the end of the season and was an effective change-of-pace back for Wyoming. For the season, he had 30 carries for 146 yards. His best game of the season came against Air Force, when he gained 56 yards on 11 attempts. He carried a 4.9-yards per rush average, and was fifth on the team in total rushing. High School: Sutton was an Honorable Mention All-State Class 4A selection by the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors in 2010. He also earned First Team All-District 13-4A and All-Area honors as a running back his senior season. Sutton rushed for 1,718 yards and scored 17 touchdowns his senior year. He was captain of his Texas High team that posted a 6-5 record and advanced to the first round of the state playoffs. As a junior, Sutton ran for 1,187 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. His team made it to the second round of the state playoffs with an 8-3 record. Sutton became a starter his sophomore year, as he rushed for 861 yards and had 10 rushing touchdowns on an 8-2 team that advanced to the second round of the playoffs. He played for head coach Barry Norton. Personal: Born Nov. 7, 1992, he is the son of Andrewetta and Kirby Sutton Jr. and has one older brother, Korey, and one younger sister, Brianna.
