UW This Season: Kody Sutton certainly will have the opportunity to become a feature of the UW offense this fall, and is listed as the No. 2 back behind Brandon Miller. 2011: The Cowboy coaching staff originally had planned to redshirt Sutton, but injuries in the Cowboy backfield provided the speedy freshman an opportunity to play in his first year on campus. His best game of the season came against Air Force, when he gained 56 yards on 11 attempts. He carried a 4.9-yards per rush average, and was fifth on the team in total rushing. High School: Sutton was an Honorable Mention All-State Class 4A selection by the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors in 2010. His team made it to the second round of the state playoffs with an 8-3 record. Sutton became a starter his sophomore year, as he rushed for 861 yards and had 10 rushing touchdowns on an 8-2 team that advanced to the second round of the playoffs.
