Hometown Biography Summary Biography Junior (2016-17): Sheldon's successful junior season was capped off with All-Conference performances in three different events at the 2017 Mountain West Championships... All three of her final races were also career-best times... Placed fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:47.91), fifth in the 500 freestyle (4:47.26) and second in the 200 backstroke (1:55.76)... Her conference distinctions in the 200 backstroke and 500 freestyle were the the second-consecutive honors of her career, while she made the All-Conference team in the 200 freestyle for the first time... Won the 200 butterfly in her first two competitions of the season, against New Mexico and Air Force... Placed first in the 200 freestyle against New Mexico State... Finished top-eight in the 200 backstroke (seventh) and 500 freestyle (fifth) at the Mizzou Invite... Won the 500 freestyle (5:10.29) against Colorado School of Mines, and later against UNLV (4:58.81). Sophomore (2015-16): Sheldon completed her sophomore campaign by earning All-MW honors in the 200 back and 500 free. She currently holds the Cowgirl record in the 500 free (4:49.30). At the 2016 MW Championships, Sheldon competed in a number of events for UW. She placed fourth in the 200 back final with a time of 1:57.28, and took 12th overall in the 200 free (1:49.32). Sheldon was also a member of the sixth-place 800 free relay team at the championships. To begin the season, Sheldon finished in second place in the 200 back (2:06.75) against New Mexico State, as the following day she also placed second in the 500 free (5:09.25) against New Mexico. While competing against Border War rival Colorado State, Sheldon won the 200 fly (2:08.80). In helping UW come away with it’s first-ever victory over a Pac-12 opponent, Sheldon took third in the both the 200 fly (2:06.41) and the 500 free (5:03.51). Freshman (2014-15): As a freshman, Sheldon had an exciting season for Wyoming. She helped defeat defending WAC Champion Northern Arizona by winning the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:52.24. In her first MW Championships, Sheldon finished 18th in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:56.88, 21st in in the 200 freestyle and 22nd in the 200 backstroke. High School: Graduate of Thompson Valley High School. Earned All-State, All-Conference and All-Area honors three straight season at Thompson Valley HS. Also helped her team earn three-straight State titles during her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. Holds school records in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, as well as the 400 freestyle relays. Earned a second place finish in the 100 backstroke at the state championship along with a third-place finish in the 100 butterfly. Named to the All-Golden Eagle team during her senior season. She was named the Freshman of the Year during her first season of high school swimming. Also recruited by Minnesota, Utah, TCU, SMU and Mizzou. Personal: Daughter of Lonnie and Andrea Sheldon.
