Hometown Biography Summary Biography Junior (2016-17): Sheaffer helped earn the Cowboys valuable points, scoring in both the 200 freestyle and 200 backstroke, at the 2017 WAC Championships... Placed fourth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:37.85... Placed fifth in the 200 backstroke with a mark of 1:46.40... Notched a career-best time in the 50 backstroke (16.47) against Colorado School of Mines... Recorded second-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:40.84) and 200 backstroke (1:50.81) in the Pokes' dual against UNLV... Also recorded two second-place races against Colorado School of Mines, with times of 47.48 in the 100 freestyle and 16.47 in the 50 backstroke. Sophomore (2015-16): Sheaffer ended his sophomore campaign with a strong showing at the 2016 WAC Championships. He earned All-WAC honors in the 200 back after placing sixth with a time of 1:46.97. He was also a member of the third-place 800 free relay team at the championships. Sheaffer opened the season with a second-place finish in the 200 free (1:42.14) and fourth-place mark (1:54.62) against Denver. He then won the 200 free against LSU with a time of 1:53.89. He also brought home the 200 free victory in the upset over No. 14 Utah in early December, before taking third (1:41.37) and fifth (4:41.78) in the 500 free against Pac-12 member Arizona State. As a final tune-up before the conference meet, Sheaffer claimed second (1:40.51) in the 200 free and fourth (1:52.29) in the 200 back against UNLV. Freshman (2014-15): As a freshman, Sheaffer competed in a number of events for the Cowboys. At the Colorado Mesa Invite, he came away with a fourth-place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:54.84. Against Denver, he finished seventh in the 50 backstroke with a final mark of 25.01, and during the dual with Air Force, he finished sixth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.77. High School: Graduate of Laramie High School. He was a state champion in the 100 backstroke. He was also an All-State performer leading his team to a Southern Wyoming Athletic conference championship. He helped lead the Plainsman to a third-place finish at the state championship. He is the LHS school record holder in the 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke. Also was a four-year letter winner in golf. Also excelled in the classroom as a member of National Honor Society.
