Biography

2016-17: Specialized in the long jump…won the event at the Power Meet to start the indoor season with a personal best 23-9…also collected wins in the event at the Powder River Dual (23-5.5) and Colorado Open (22-5.75)…took second in the event at the Rocky Mountain Classic with a jump of 23-2.75…placed ninth at the MW indoor championships, jumping 22-8…took 11th in the long jump and 12th in the high jump at the MW outdoor championships…named to the Academic All-Mountain West team for his efforts in the classroom.
 
2015-16: Posted one UW all-time top 10 mark on the season…indoors competed in four meets…improved seven places from 2015 to fifth place at the MW indoor championships in the heptathlon, scoring 4,955 points, the No. 6 UW all-time mark, while recording indoor PRs in four of the seven events…outdoors competed in four meets… notched a 12th-place finish in the decathlon at the MW outdoor championships with 6,390 points including five outdoor PRs…placed 12th in the long jump at the MW outdoor championships, leaping 21-6…named Academic All-MW in the classroom, posting a 3.34 GPA.
 
2014-15: Indoors competed in four meets...placed 12th in the heptathlon at the MW Championships with 4,533 points...cleared a personal-best 5-11 1/2 in the high jump in the meet...also notched a personal-best 11-11 3/4 in the pole vault during the season...did not compete during the outdoor season.
 
2013-14: Indoors competed in the high jump and long jump at four meets, before doing the heptathlon at the MW Championships...finished fifth in the event at the conference meet with 4,643 points, the seventh-highest total in school history...outdoors did the decathlon at the UCR Classic and MW Championships...at the conference meet finished seventh with 5,264 points, less than 200 points away from Wyoming's all-time top 10.
 
Before Wyoming: Ran his prep career for coach Conrad Crist at Fort Collins High School...missed his senior season of track due to injury...as a junior placed ninth in the state in the 300-meter hurdles in 41.5...owned personal bests of 8.4 in the 60-meter hurdles, 15.2 in the 110-meter hurdles and 56.3 in the 400-meter hurdles...won the Junior Olympics state meet in the 110-meter hurdles and qualified for the regional and national meet...accomplished the same feat as a sophomore...also lettered as a junior and senior as the football team's quarterback...as a senior was named all-conference and all-area.
 
Personal: The son of James and Karen Seeton...born on Jan. 26, 1995, in Fort Collins, Colo...majoring in English at UW...has one brother, Sam...also recruited by Western State, Montana and Nebraska Wesleyan.
