2015-16: 9-9
Totals: 9-9

2015-16: Newman saw action for the Cowboys in four open tournaments. He finished the season with a 9-9 overall record with two major decisions. Newman began the year taking fourth at the Northern Colorado Open and also competed in the Cowboy Open, UNK Holiday Inn Open and the Reno Tournaments of Champions.

Prior to UW: Newman spent one season at West Virginia. He spent last season training at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

High School: During his senior season he was the Reno Tournament of Champions winner. As a junior, He was a FILA Cadet All-American selection. He also earned a fourth place finish at the Reno Tournament of Champions. During his sophomore season he was a State Champion. He also finished sixth at the freestyle nationals as a sophomore.

Personal: He was born on January 7, 1995. He is the son of Randy and Sue. He is majoring in english at UW.
