2018-19: Went 11-15 overall as a redshirt freshman, competing at 184 pounds … Started 10 duals for the Cowboys, racking up 10 team points … Recorded five falls and two majors on the year … Won his first career dual match in an 11-0 major decision over Tyler McNutt of North Dakota State … Took third at the Cowboy Open, going 5-1 with three falls … Took fourth in his division at the Journeymen Classic … Also appeared at the Reno Tournament of Champions and Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.

2017-18: Went 17-5 overall in his redshirt season with six falls and three major decisions, competing primarily at 184 pounds … Won the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open, going 4-0 with three falls and defeating Air Force’s Jimmy Weaver by 8-0 major decision in the finals … Went 2-1 at the Utah Valley Open to finish second … Finished second at the UNK Holiday Inn Open … Went 4-1 at the Northern Colorado Open … Also appeared at the Cowboy Open and Reno Tournament of Champions.

High School: Carless Looney was a Ron Thon champion in addition to being a 2017 high school state champion and also a NHSCA Freshman All-American. He took second as a sophomore and sixth as a junior. Additionally, Looney wrestled for former Cowboy wrestler Mikah Kadera.
