2022-23: Hastings capped off his Cowboy career with his fifth consecutive double-digit win season… Eclipsed the 100 win mark with a 4-0 shutout win over VMI’s Jon Hoover… Won the Reno Tournament of Champions in impressive fashion rattling off  five straight wins with three of them being bonus point victories… Finished third at the Soldier Salute with a record of 3-1… Picked up dual wins over Air Force and Northern Iowa… Finished his career with 103 wins putting him tied for 18th all time in program history. 

2021-22: In his fourth year in the Wyoming starting lineup Hastings turned in another great season picking up 25 wins and recording a career best eight pins in one season… He qualified for his fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament entering the tournament as the No. 20 seed… Turned in a career best 3-2 performance at the NCAA Tournament finishing one win shy of All-American honors… Took fifth place at the Big 12 Championships for his second straight top five finish at the Big 12 Tournament… Won the Reno Tournament of Champions in dominant style pinning five of the six opponents he face don his way to capturing the title… Finished seventh at the Cliff Keen Invitational with wins over No. 30 Joshua Kim (HARVARD) and No. 15 Gerrit Nijenhuis (PURDUE). 

2020-21: Qualified for his third consecutive NCAA Tournament in 2020-21… Recorded his highest career finish at the Big 12 Championships placing 3rd with a 4-1 record at the tournament… Was named the Big 12 wrestler of the week for the first time in his career after winning the Cowboy Challenge Tournament with a 3-0 performance… Went a perfect  6-0 in duals during the season highlighted by a first period pin against Austin Clayton (ASU) in the final dual meet of the season… Rattled off a eight match winning streak in the middle of the season on his way to a 17-4 record
 
2019-20: Qualified for his second consecutive NCAA Championships in 2019-20 … recorded 23 wins on the season and led the squad with 17 bonus-point victories (seven falls, one tech fall, nine major decisions) … recorded two top-25 victories on the season, both coming via bonus points … won the Cowboy Open by going 4-0 with four bonus-point victories … took second at the Reno Tournament of Champions and had a pair of pins at the event … placed sixth at the Big 12 Championships.

2018-19: Turned in an impressive first season in the Cowboy lineup, posting a 26-15 overall record with an 11-4 dual mark … Scored eight bonus point victories with a fall, two technical falls and a major decision … Recorded 38 dual points for the Cowboys in his 15 starts … Racked up four ranked wins on the season … First-time NCAA qualifier, seeded 25th at 174 pounds … Took the first ranked win of his career at the Journeymen Classic where he defeated No. 10 Dylan Lydy of Purdue, 3-2 … Knocked off No. 12 Ben Harvey of Army, 3-1, in the Cowboys’ dual win over the Black Knights … Scored a last-second takedown over No. 12 Kimball Bastian of Utah Valley to win the bout, 7-6, in the Wyoming dual win over the Wolverines … Finished sixth at the Big 12 Championships … Took first at the Cowboy Open, going 4-0 … Also appeared at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational and Reno Tournament of Champions.

2017-18: Went 22-6 overall in his redshirt year, including seven falls, two technical falls and four major decisions … Competed at 165 pounds, wrestling primarily in open tournaments … Went 4-0 at the Cowboy Open to take first … Went 4-0 at the Northern Colorado Open to take the 165-pound title … Posted five wins in as many matches at the UNK Holiday Inn Open and pinned Briar Cliff’s Chris Paulsen in the finals to take the title at 165 … Competed unattached at the Reno Tournament of Champions and went 4-2 to finish sixth … Finished second at the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open, going 3-1 with a fall and major decision … Advanced to the semis at the Utah Valley Open … Also competed at the National Collegiate Open.

High School: Hayden Hastings was a three-time finalist and two-time high school state champion and earned All-American honors after a fourth-place finish at the NHSCA High School Nationals. Hasting’s junior season also featured a title at the Ron Thon Memorial tournament and a third-place finish at the ultra-competitive Reno Tournament of Champions. Furthermore, Hastings was listed at the No. 18 senior according to Intermat.
