Biography

2016-17 (Senior): Mackenzie Barrie closed out her senior season with the fifth-best stroke average (76.6) in program history after playing in all 29 rounds • The senior competed in all ten tournaments for the Brown and Gold with her best finish coming at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate • Her 15th-place finish was not only the third top-15 mark of her career but the three-round score of 224 (+8) tied her career-best • She opened the Denver Ron Moore intercollegiate with a career-low 70 (-2) and then also tied for 22nd at the Islander Classic with a 234 (+18). She had seven top-30 finishes during the year and 11 total during her career • One of her top-30 finishes was at the 2017 MW Championship • During her final competition for the Brown and Gold, Barrie helped lead the Cowgirls to a seventh-place finish and the second-best team score in the 18 MW Championships UW has competed in at the tournament in Rancho Mirage, Calif., with a 231 (+15). 

2015-16 (Junior): Barrie once again had an impactful season for the Cowgirls • Played 15 rounds with a scoring average of 82.1 • Recorded a season-low 75 (+3) during the final round of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic • Also had a season-best 242 (+26) at the Cowgirl Classic • Played in five tournaments throughout the year • Made the lineup three times, and played twice as an individual for UW • Closed out the season at the Bobcat Spring Invite with the three-round total of 246 (+30) • Once again named to the Academic All-MW team.

2014-15 (Sophomore): Barrie proved to be a leader for the Cowgirls during the 2014-15 season, as she played in every event for UW • Participated in 32 rounds recording the second-best stroke average on the team with 77.8 • Led the team in scoring four times throughout the season, while also notching two top-25 finishes • Carded her lowest tournament score of 224 (+8) at the Grand Canyon Invitational, as well as, her best career round of 72 (E) in the first round • Tied for seventh at the Grand Canyon Invitational for the best finish of her career • Finished the season at the Mountain West Championships as the second-highest finisher for Wyoming, where she tied for 36th with a three-round score card of 239 (+23) • Named to the spring 2015 Academic All-MW team.

2013-14 (Freshman): Barrie made an impact on the Cowgirls in her first season with the program • Played 18 rounds with a scoring average of 80.8 • Best finish came as an individual at the Cowgirl Desert intercollegiate finishing tied for 25th in the 107-golfer field with a career-low score of 230 (+14) • Played well at the Cowgirl Classic with a score of 232 (+16), tying for 39th place • Competed in the Mountain West Championship finishing 44th at 255 (+39) • Recorded a season-best scores of 75 (+3) in the first round of the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate and Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.

High School: Was at the time, the second Canadian on the Cowgirl roster, Mackenzie Barrie posted a standout summer of golf in 2012 with a scoring average of 76.2 strokes • Tied for 31st at 316 (+12) at the British Columbia Women's Amateur Championship, before going on to place 12th at the British Columbia Junior Girls Championship at 309 (+9) • Placed second at her Zone Championship • A member of the British Columbia team in the North Pacific Team Matches in 2013 • A member of the Honor Roll all four years and graduated with a 3.94 grade-point average • As a senior, she was named the Athlete of the Year and Top All-Round Student.

Personal: Mackenzie was born Nov. 15 in Prince Rupert, British Columbia • She is the daughter of Jamie and Tracey Barrie and has one brother, Conor • Plans to major in kinesiology and health promotion while at UW.
