Biography

2016-17 (Junior): The 2016-17 season for Gabrielle Gibson was nothing short of stellar • The junior played in all 29 rounds to finish with a scoring average of 76.0 • Her season scoring-average is third-best in program history •  Juanita Rico holds the top spot with a 75.6 individual stroke average during the 2011-12 season • Gibson led the Cowgirls in four separate tournaments this past season • She earned one of the best finishes for UW this spring at the Lady Thunderbird Invitational when she brought home fourth place • It was the third top-five finish of her career • She helped led Wyoming to what was its fifth top-five finish of the season and third in a row at the Lady Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah • At the BYU Entrada Classic, she not only tied for 13th with a 223 (+7), but recorded her season-best round of 70 (-2) during the final round • She also joined teammate Sarah Hankins with a top-20 finish at the Nebraska Chip N’ Club • Gibson shot a 225 (+9) to tie for 16th • To close out her junior campaign, Gibson finish 39th at the MW Championships • She shot a 238 (+22) during the three-day tournament. 
 
2015-16 (Sophomore): Gibson played in all ten tournaments during her sophomore season • She led the team with a 76.5 scoring average, and also with five top-25 finishes • Twice she placed within the top-five, as she tied for fifth at the Denver Ron Moore Collegiate and then second at the Grand Canyon Invite • She fired a career-low 68 (-4) to tie the lowest individual round in school history during the second round of the DU Ron Moore Intercollegiate • Her second-place finish at the GCU Invite proved to be the best of her career, and it also became the top-individual finish for a Cowgirl since Juanita Rico finished second at the Guistana Memorial Classic in 2011 • Gibson lead UW to its fourth-best 54-hole score in program history (894 +30), as she finished 12th with a 227 (+11) • She closed out the season at the MW Championships with a three-day total 242 (+26) • Graduated in May of 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in communication and will have two years of eligibility left with the Cowgirls • Once again named to the Academic All-MW team.

2014-15 (Redshirt Freshman):
Gibson jumped right into the lineup for UW and played in all 11 tournaments during her freshman season • Played a total of 32 rounds and finished with the fourth lowest scoring average on the team with 79.2 • Lowest tournament score was 231 (+15), which she recorded at both the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate and the Price's "Give `Em Five" Intercollegiate • Earned her first top-25 finish of her career, when she tied for 14th at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate and her second top-25 finish later in the season at the Firestone Grill Invitational • Fired her career best of 72 (E) in the final round of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic • Wrapped up her season with her first appearance at the Mountain West Championship where she shot a three-round score of 242 (+26) and finished the tournament in 42nd place • Named to the spring 2015 Academic All-MW team.

2013-14 (Freshman):
Gibson redshirted in her first season with the Cowgirls.

High School:
A native of Temecula, Calif., Gabrielle Gibson joined the Cowgirls in 2013 after lettering four years in golf at Great Oak High School for coach Robert Murphy • As a senior, she led her team to a Southwestern League Co-Championship • Individually as her teams co-captain she earned First Team All-League and All-Valley honors • Qualified for the CIF Individual championships • A First Team All-League and All-Valley her junior season and a CIF qualifier • During that season she earned her teams integrity award • As a sophomore she earned Second Team All-Valley honors and First Team All-League honors • During her sophomore season she helped lead her team to a Southwestern League Championship and qualify for the CIF Championships • Lettered four seasons in track and field at Great Oak including earning Athlete of the Year honors her freshman season • In the classroom, she was a four-year scholar-athlete award recipient • A member of National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society and will earn an International Baccalaureate Diploma.

Personal:
Gibson was born Sept. 17 in Poway, Calif., and is the daughter of Glenn and Kendy Gibson • Father competed in Track and Field at Long Beach State University • Communication major.
