Biography

2018-19 (Redshirt Senior): Appeared in eight of the Cowgirls’ 10 tournaments on the year, including competing in the Wyoming lineup in five events … Recorded the third-lowest stroke average on the team with a 77.4 over 24 rounds on the season … Played in all four fall tournaments, recording her highest finish of the season at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate where she tied for 17th with a 233 (+17) … Finished tied for 42nd at the Denver Ron Moore Intercollegiate with a 227 (+11) … Competing as an individual, tied for 26th to open the spring at the Battle at the Rock, carding a 224 (+8) for her lowest tournament score of the season … Also recorded her career low round at the Battle at the Rock with a 1-under 71 over her final 18 of the tournament.

2017-18 (Redshirt Junior): Competed in nine of the Cowgirls’ 10 tournaments on the season, including all four fall events • Recorded 29 rounds for a 79.6 scoring average • Opened the season at the CSU Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic, posting a 224 (+8) to tie for 39th • Carded a 239 (+23) to tie for 32nd at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate • Played in six of seven spring tournaments for Wyoming • Posted her highest finish of the year at the Lady Thunderbird Invitational, finishing in a tie for 13th with a 157 (+13), and helping the Cowgirls to the program’s first team tournament win since 2008 • Was named an All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association • Also named to the Academic All-MW Team.
 
2016-17 (Redshirt Sophomore): After beginning her redshirt sophomore season with a 232 (+16) at the CSU Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic, Sarah Hankins posted her career-best finish at the Nebraska Chip N’ Club • She finished the tournament with a share of eighth place after a three-round score of 221 (+5) • Her score in Lincoln was the lowest individual tournament score of the 2016-17 season • Hankins played in four of the six tournaments during the spring season • Her best score of the spring came at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic where she recorded a 233 (+17) and helped guide UW to an eighth-place finish at its home tournament in Maricopa, Ariz. • At the MW Championships, Hankins posted a score of 243 (+27) to finish in 43rd place. 
 
2015-16 (Sophomore): Redshirted.
 
2014-15 (Freshman): Hankins played in six of the 11 tournaments for the Cowgirls during the 2014-15 season • Tallied 18 rounds for a scoring average of 81.1 • Best finish was at the Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate where she tied for 36th place with a score of 237 (+21) • Shot her lowest tournament score at the Price's "Give `Em Five" Intercollegiate with a tally of 231 (+15) • Finished a strong fall season with her career best round of 73 (+1) at the Denver Ron Moore Intercollegiate • Played in three more tournaments during the spring, with her best showing coming at the Matador Invitational • Finished in 46th place with a score of 260 (+44) • A spring 2015 Academic All-MW team member was also named a WGCA All-American.
 
High School: Sarah Hankins joined the Cowgirls from Legacy High School in Thornton, Colo., after lettering four years in golf under coach Mark Glen • A two-time All-State and a three-time All-Region selection, Hankins was also a two-time team captain • In 2013, she finished in third place at the Class 5A state championship and the Saddleback CWGA Junior Stroke Play Championship and was runner-up at the 2013 CWGA Junior Match Play Championship • As a sophomore, she placed seventh at the state tournament and was named the North Metro Spring Athlete of the year as a freshman • Placed 22nd of 144 competitors at the 2013 Optimist Junior Golf Championship and currently carries a 0 handicap • An Academic All-State first team selection, she carried a 3.7 grade point average through high school and participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Skills USA and the swim team • Volunteered with USGA- LPGA Girls Golf, Special Olympics and Bridges of Silence.

Personal: Hankins is the daughter of Todd and Michelle and has one younger sister, Jennifer • Born on December 9, 1995 • Is studying mechanical engineering while at UW.
