Kayla Slofkiss had another outstanding season for the Brown and Gold in 2016 • She was joined again by Laura Beach as an All-MW selection after a terrific senior year • Slofkiss was second on the team with 284 kills (2.58 kps) and added 268 digs (2.44 dps) and 81 total blocks (0.74 bps) • She was one of five Cowgirls to record at least 100 kills on the season • Her 268 digs was also second on the team • Additionally, she chipped in 20 service aces, which was tied third best for UW • Slofkiss led the team in kills nine times and recorded double-digits in 12 different matches • Slofkiss led the team in double-doubles as a junior, and added five during the 2016 season • She recorded a season-high of 18 kills against New Mexico (10/8) • After becoming the 11th Cowgirl to record 1,000 career kills, she earned her first MW Offensive Player of the Week award on Nov. 7 • During her senior season, Slofkiss joined Jodi Purdy (2009-12), Ronda Munger (1984-87) and Michele Rauter (2000-03) as the only players with 1,000 kills and 900 digs during their career • Slofkiss ended her career eighth in digs (951) and sets played (427) and also 11th in kills with 1,037 for Wyoming • Along with Courtney Chacon and Laura Beach, Slofkiss won 85 matches as Cowgirls • The 85 victories are third all-time as a class • Additionally, was again an Academic All-MW selection.

Slofkiss saw action in 29 matches for the Cowgirls, making 29 starts and playing in 110 sets • The team-leader and second in the MW with 14 double-doubles • Was named All-MW for the first time in her career • Selected to the Rumble in the Rockies and Gonzaga Invite All-Tournament teams • Led the team in kills in 14 separate matches and in digs three times on the year • Ended the season with a team-leading 306 kills and 2.78 kills per set • Second for the Cowgirls with 277 digs (2.52 dps), in addition to 61 total blocks on the season • Recorded double-figure kills in 20 matches on the year with a career-high of 19 at New Mexico (11/5/15) • Opened the season with a team-leading 11 kills, in addition to 12 digs against Ohio State (8/28) • Began a stretch of four matches with at least ten kills against Northern Colorado (9/12/15) by posting 11 against the Bears, 13 against Idaho State (9/17/15), 11 against McNeese State (9/18/15) and 12 against Pepperdine (9/18/15) • During the first weekend of MW play, Slofkiss had 14 kills against Utah State (9/26/15), before a season-best .480 hitting clip, 12 kills and 12 digs at San Diego State (10/1/15) • Posted a second-consecutive double-double with 11 kills, a season-high 16 digs and a .471 hitting clip against Air Force (10/8/15) • Had 16 kills and 16 digs at Utah State (10/22/15), before 11 kills, 11 digs and a .400 hitting efficiency against Nevada (10/29/15) • Ended the season with four-straight double-doubles • Had 14 kills and 15 digs against San Jose State (11/14/15), 12 kills and 13 digs at Fresno State (11/18/15), 10 kills and 12 digs against UNLV (11/21/15) and 14 kills and 12 digs against Border War rival Colorado State (11/24/15) • Once again an Academic All-MW selection.

Played in all 31 matches with 30 starts and 114 sets during the season • Recorded 266 kills (2.33 kps), which was fourth on the team, and 289 digs (2.54 dps), which was second on the team • Hit .175 (266-124-811) on the year • Finished with 29 service aces (0.25 saps) which ranked seventh in overall matches • In MW matches, she averaged 2.17 kills and 2.99 digs per set • Had a career-high six service aces against Nevada (11/19/14) • Finished with a career-high 22 digs against New Mexico (10/18/14) • Followed that up with 21 digs against Utah State (10/23/14) • Recorded a career-high seven total blocks against Boise State (10/25/14) • Tied her career-high with 14 kills plus seven digs against Washington State (8/29/14) and Furman (9/13/14) • Named the MVP of the UniWyo Wyoming Invite after averaging 3.08 kills, 1.00 digs and 0.75 blocks per set for the weekend • Earned All-Tournament Team honors after averaging 3.90 kills and 2.70 digs at the Montana Invite • Recorded double-figure kills 13 times and five double-doubles • Led the team in kills seven times and digs six times • An Academic All-MW selection for the first time in her career.

Played in 29 matches and 93 sets with 17 starts on the year • Started her first match of her career against UAB (9/14/13) • Recorded 181 kills on the season averaging 1.95 per set • Had 117 digs (1.26 dps) and 52 total blocks (0.56 bps) • In league matches, she averaged 1.90 kills and 1.40 digs per set • Recorded a career-high 14 kills against and 42 attempts against Utah State (10/31/13) • Recorded a season-high 17 digs against San Diego State (10/17/13) • Recorded double-figure kills five times.
High School
A four-year letterwinner while attending Cherokee Trail High School in Colorado • A First Team Centennial League selection in 2011 and 2012 and a Second Team All-League honoree as a sophomore • Helped lead her to team to a 19-8 record after completing play at the 5A State Colorado State Championship and was named to the All-Colorado State Team • A two-time team captain, she was named to the Regis All-Tournament Team twice • Averaged 3.2 kills and 2.6 digs and holds the all-time school record in kills and digs • Coached by Terry Miller.
