Laurel Place closed out her Cowgirl career playing in 23 sets during her final season • She posted 19 kills (0.83 kps) and 24 total blocks (1.04 bps) in 2017 • Place had seven kills against Eastern Michigan (9/1/17), then recorded career highs in kills (eight) and blocks (ten) against Jacksonville (9/2/17) in the UniWyo Invite • For her career, Place played in 26 sets, totaled 21 kills (0.81kps) and 26 blocks (1.00 bps) for the Brown and Gold.

A three-year letterwinner and two-time All-State selection while attending Cody High School • Also a three-time All-Conference selection, while helping her team to a State Championship in 2011 • As a senior, she was a team captain and MVP • Besides volleyball, she competed in basketball and soccer • Earned All-State and All-Conference honors in basketball and helped her soccer team win a State Championship in 2012 • An excellent student, she was a member of National Honor Society and was named the VFW Outstanding Spokesperson Award winner.
