TRACK AND FIELD
2014-15: Ran in four meets during the outdoor season...ran a season-best 8:57.72 in the steeplechase at the Cowpoke Open on May 1...placed fifth in the event at the MW Championships...also placed 14th in the 5,000 meters at the meet...qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary in the steeplechase and placed 28th...also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. 
2013-14: Earned All-MW honors with a conference title in the steeplechase and ran three all-time top 10 times during the season...indoors ran the fifth-fastest 3,000 meters in 8:14.49 at the Powder River Dual on Jan. 31...finished fourth in the 5,000 meters and seventh in the 3,000 meters at the MW Championships...outdoors won the steeplechase at the MW Championships...ran the fifth-fastest time in school history in 8:50.45 at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 18...also posted the No. 7 mark in the 5,000 meters in 14:06.26 at the MW Championships to place fourth in the event...qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary in the steeplechase...also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. 
2012-13: During the indoor season, competed at the MW Championships in the 3,000 meters (3rd, 8:21) and the 5,000 meters (11th, 14:57), achieving All-MW honors for the 3,000-meter...earned a personal-best mile run of 4:11.98 for second place at the AF Invite, also helping the distance medley to first place in 10:41...achieved a personal-best 3,000 meters with a time of 8:17.14 at the Husky Classic, UW's fifth-best all-time mark for the event...at the Holiday Inn Invite, ran the 3,000 meters in 8:27 for second place...redshirted the outdoor season...named Academic All-MW and a MW Scholar-Athlete. 
2011-12: During the indoor season, had his fastest time in the 5,000 meters at 14:52.42 at the Husky Classic for No. 9 on UW's indoor charts for the event ... competed at the MW Championships in the 3,000 meters where he placed 14th in conference in 8:37 ... his outdoor season was highlighted by a second-place finish in the 1,500 meters at the Snowball Meet ... competed in the 3,000-meter steeple at the MW Championships where he finished second. 
2010-11: A key cog in the Cowboy distance crew ... during the indoor season, recorded two all-time best marks and finished in the top 10 in three out of the five races in which he ran ... added three personal records during the outdoor season, all good for top 10 finishes ... competed in two races at the MW Outdoor Championships and both were personal bests and top 10 finishes ... chosen as the Cowboys' Newcomer of the Year by the coaching staff.

2013-14: Posted one of the best cross country seasons by a Wyoming runner in the last five seasons by qualifying for the NCAA Championships as an individual...also earned All-Mountain West First Team and All-NCAA Mountain Region honors...placed fifth at the conference meet in 24:27 for the ninth-fastest 8 kilometers by a Cowboy since 1990...claimed 14th at the region meet in 29:50 for the third-fastest 10 kilometers by a Cowboy since 1990...became the first Cowboy to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Mark Korir in 2008...placed 65th at the national meet in 30:01, missing All-America honors by 25 places and 16 seconds...paced the Cowboys in five of the six meets during the season, after finishing second on the team in the first race...earned five top-15 finishes, including winning the individual title at the Utah Valley Invite in 18:08...placed third at the Highlander Invite in 17:48 for the fastest 6 kilometers by a Cowboy since 1990...in 24 career races, placed in Wyoming's top three in all but one race...placed in Wyoming's top two in 19 races and led the Cowboys in 10 races...named MW Academic All-Conference in the classroom.
2012-13: Placed in Wyoming's top two finishers at all six meets...finished sixth at the Rust Buster in 19:11 ... earned sixth place at the Montana St. Invitational in 25:07 ... competed for 19th place at the Rocky Mountain Shootout in 26:03 ... achieved third place at the Highlander Invitational in 17:50 ... achieved 16th place at the Mountain West Championship in 24:57 ... finished in 29th place at the NCAA Mountain Regional in 31:00 ... named MW Academic All-Conference and a MW Scholar-Athlete.
2011-12: Placed third at the Wyoming Invitational in 22:04 ... came in sixth place in 24:52 at the Woody Greeno Invite ... earned a ninth-place mark at the Rocky Mountain Shootout in 26:00 ... finished Pre-Nationals in 39th place at 25:03 ... competed in the MW Championship for 31st place in 26:32 ... achieved a 22nd-place mark in 31:15 at the NCAA Mountain Regional ... named MW Academic All-Conference.
2010-11: Finished in the top 10 in his first two collegiate races ... often in contention for the team's second spot at the finish line, and finished up the season with four top-50 finishes ... placed 16th at the MW Championship, earning conference Freshman of the Year honors ... a pleasant surprise for the track team, qualifying for the NCAA Preliminaries in the 3,000-meter steeplechase ... finished 23rd overall and ninth in his heat with a time of 9:02.44.

Before Wyoming: Won two titles at the 2010 Wyoming indoor championships in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters ... also competed in the nationally renowned Simplot Games, where he finished third overall and was the top Wyoming finalist in the 3,200 meters. 
Personal: Born Dec. 5 in Rock Springs, Wyo., to parents David and Janet Zans ... sister, Nicole, was a diver for UW from 2007-2009 ... majoring in electrical engineering.
