San Diego, Calif. (March 7, 2023) -- The Wyoming Cowboys closed out the R.E.L. Lamkin San Diego Classic on Tuesday with a strong final round of 290 (+2) to move up into sole possession of seventh place in an impressive 15-team tournament field that included four teams ranked in the Top 50 in the country. UW senior
Kirby Coe-Kirkham fired a 71 (-1) final round for a three-round total of 211 (-5) to tie for seventh individually in a field of 95 collegiate golfers.
The Cowboys finished with a 54-hole total of 872 (+8) and defeated one of those Top 50 ranked teams in BYU. The Cougars entered the tournament ranked No. 35 in the Golfstat rankings but placed 10th at the San Diego Classic, with a final three-round score of 884 (+20). "We got off to a bit of a slow start in the first round on Monday, but bounced back with two strong rounds in yesterday's afternoon round and today's final round," said
Joe Jensen, Wyoming Director of Golf. "This was a good test for us, playing against an outstanding field, including some of the top teams in the country and in our conference. I liked the way our team responded in the final two rounds.
"Kirby (Coe-Kirkham) obviously played very consistent all tournament. He ended the tournament 5-under par and shot back-to-back sub-par rounds in the final two rounds. We had several other individuals play some really good golf against top-level competition."
Cowboy

Tyler Severin finished in 38th at 221 (+5). Rounding out the five-man team for the Pokes was
