BRADENTON, Fla. – The Wyoming women's golf team wrapped up its second round of play at the Pat Bradley Invitational in 13
th on Monday afternoon at the par-72 Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club.
As a team, Wyoming carded a second-round, 17-over 305 to follow up Sunday's 304. The Cowgirls sit just three shots outside of the top 10 after 36 holes. UTEP is the team leader heading into Tuesday's final round at 1-over.
"It was great to see individual improvement today and overall team consistency, head coach
Josey Stender said. "We are close with a few teams and have a chance for a good finish if we can continue to give ourselves good looks on the greens. We've talked a lot about the hard work they have all put in so tomorrow is just about enjoying the last round of our fall season and playing to play great."
Cowgirl junior
Erin Sargent leads the Pokes after two days of action, sitting in a tie for 16
th at 3-over for the week after a second-round 77 on Tuesday. Sargent was one of only nine players in the field to open the tournament under par, firing a season-low-tying 70 on Sunday.
Teeing off on hole 10, Sargent got off to a bit of a rough start, carding four bogeys to get to the turn at 4-over; however, the Longmont, Colo., native bounced back turning in a 1-over 33 over her final nine.
Freshman
Samantha Hui was the low Cowgirl in Monday's round, tying her career low with a 75 to tie herself in 44
th overall at 8-over for the week.
Sarah Hankins recorded a 4-over 76 in her second round to tie for 60
th at 12-over after 36 holes at the event.
Senior
Megan Knadler and redshirt sophomore
Caitlyn Skavdahl each recorded 77's on Monday. Skavdahl sits in 52
nd at 10-over, while Knadler is in 67
th at 13-over.
Paired with Georgia State and Eastern Michigan, Wyoming will tee off for Tuesday's third and final round at 8:30 a.m. EST.
