2018-19: Went 1-7 as a junior for the Cowboys, starting a pair of duals at 125 pounds … Recorded his first career dual win with a 6-3 decision over Utah Valley’s Josh Jensen in the Cowboys’ road win over the Wolverines … Also started in the Pokes’ win over Northern Colorado … Appeared at the Cowboy Open and Northern Colorado Open.

2017-18: Went 7-7 overall as a sophomore, competing at 125 pounds … Went 5-1 at the UNK Holiday Inn Open to finish fourth … Finished third at the UVU Open … Also competed at the Cowboy Open and Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open.

2016-17: 
Trout began his redshirt freshman season with a win over Garreth Erhardt during the Cowboy Open. He would go on to also compete in the UNC, UNK Holiday and Bob Smith Open tournaments. Trout picked up the wins at the Bob Smith Open, including one tech fall. Trout fell by 8-2 decision against #11 Nick Piccininni in the lone dual he competed in during the 2016-17 season.

2015-16:
Trout redshirted in his first season with the Pokes.

High School:
Trout is a graduate of Centennial HS in Utica, Neb. A four-time Nebraska class C state champion he is the 25th wrestler in Nebraska to win four state titles and only the second in Class C. He has four District C championships to his credit. During his senior season he was named a FloNationals All-American. Trout has continued his folkstyle success on the national level as well adding a national championship at the 2013 USA Wrestling Preseason Nationals, runner-up at the 2013 USAW/Cliff Keen Folkstyle Nationals and first place at the 2014 Cliff Keen USA Wrestling Folkstyle Nationals. Trout has also excelled on the freestyle scene, with medals at Fargo in the Cadet and Junior national championships as well as at the FILA Junior and Cadet national levels. He was ranked No. 12 at 120 pounds in InterMat high school rankings. 

Personal:
He was born on June 9, 1996. He is the son of Jon and Belinda. He has one brother Dustyn and one sister Danielle. He plans on majoring in kinesiology at UW.
