Biography

2019-20 (Sophomore):  Jared Edeen played in five of eight tournaments for the Cowboys in the 2019-20 season.  He tied for 37th place at the University of Denver Ron Moore Intercollegiate for his best finish.  In the Ram Masters Invitational, Edeen shot a three-round total of 219 (+9) for his lowest tournament score of the fall season, and his round of 70 (Even) in the second round of the Ram Masters was his lowest individual round of the season.  During the summer of 2020, Edeen advanced all the way to the semifinals of the Wyoming State Match Play Championship.

2018-19 (Redshirt Freshman):  Edeen competed in eight of 13 tournaments for the Cowboys.  His final two tournaments of the 2019 spring season were his best of the season.  Edeen shot a 218 (+1) in the BYU Cougar Classic to end the regular season.  That was his low tournament score of the season, and his 30th-place showing was his best tournament finish of his redshirt freshman season.  His 70 (-2) in the first round of the Cougar Classic was also his low individual round of the year.  He earned Academic All-Mountain West honors as a redshirt freshman.  In the summer of 2019, Edeen captured the individual title at the 2019 Wyoming State Amateur.  By virtue of winning the State Am, he earned a spot on the state of Wyoming’s three-man team that competed at the Pacific Coast Amateur played in Albuquerque, N.M., in the summer of 2019.  As a sophomore, Edeen was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).  He was also selected an Academic All-Mountain West honoree

2017-18 (Freshman):  Edeen redshirted his freshman season at the University of Wyoming.

High School: Edeen was a four-year letterwinner and two-time All-State honoree at Cheyenne Central High School in Cheyenne, Wyo.  As a senior, he tied for fourth place at the Class 4A Wyoming State Championship.  Edeen also finished fifth at the 4A State Championship as a junior, tied for 13th as a sophomore and tied for 20th as a freshman.  In the summer of 2015, Edeen was a member of a state of Wyoming foursome that placed second at the Junior Americas Cup at Pine Canyon Golf Club in Flagstaff, Ariz.  That was the best finish by a Wyoming team in the history of the event.  Edeen played for head golf coach Mike Lepore at Cheyenne Central High.  Edeen also lettered four years in ice hockey, and was named team captain of his ice hockey team as a senior.

Personal: Edeen plays golf left-handed.  He was born on July 19, 1998, and is the son of Rachel and Dan Edeen.  He comes from a family with a rich history in UW Athletics, as his father Dan Edeen, uncles Dave Edeen and Ryan Oman and brother Seth Edeen all played football for the Cowboys.  Edeen is studying management.
