2018-19: Fornstrom joined the Cowboys halfway through the season as a walk-on. He played football for the Pokes in the fall. He appeared in 12 games off the Cowboy bench. He averaged 4.5 minutes per game off the bench. He added 1.3 points per game and shot 43 percent from behind the arc. He scored a career-high six points in a near comeback at Air Force. He hit two triples in the contest, which was also a career-high.

High School: Fornstrom is also a member of the Cowboy Football Team and redshirted this past season. He is a graduate of Pine Bluffs High School and was teammate of Hunter Thompson. Won two State titles in both football and basketball. Was an All-State selection in basketball as a guard and in football as a quarterback. On the hardwood, Fornstrom averaged 23 points per game as a senior. He was named the winner of the Milward Simpson Award presented annually to the outstanding male and female high school senior in Wyoming.
