Wyoming will run against Colorado, Colorado State, Northern Colorado and Central Wyoming C.C. Colorado men's and women's teams are nationally ranked by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) at 20th and 26th respectively while the Colorado State women's team received votes in the national poll. Both the men and women will run the 5k track, the only meet at that distance for the men and one of only two for the women.

Pokes welcome back 17 runners on the women's side and 15 on the men's, including the scoring five on both teams from last season's NCAA Mountain Regional. Returners from that group are senior Abigail Whitman, junior Eowyn Dalbec, junior Hailey Uhre, senior Kylie Simshauser and junior Madelyn Blazo for the women and junior Jacob White and seniors Mason Norman, Ryker Holtzen, Gus McIntyre and Asefa Wetzel for the men.

Other returners on the women's side include graduate Nina Zraik, seniors Libby Berryhill-Worshek, Leah Christians, Riley Frankel, Brooke Holzworth and Rozlyn Slichko, sophomores Lauren Clarke, Kayla Coppola, Reagan Gillman, Abby Newton, Mackenzie Sawvel and Taylen Stinson and redshirt-freshman Muriel Jones.

On the men's side, returning this season are seniors Oscar Goll, Trevor Stephen and Mac Zastrow, junior Tristan Knueppel and sophomores Austin Akers, Jake Bach, Riley Nedrow and Meyer Smith.

Ten Cowgirl and five Cowboy newcomers also join the team for the 2024 season. On the women's side, graduate transfer Marina Trave joins from Cal Baptist while freshmen Hanan Aldelemy, Megan Doherty, Claire Engelhardt, Bryli Groll, Mallory Jones, Gracie Uhre, Ella Unrein and Elliana Zock enter their first year. For the men, senior Dylan van der Hock, Cal Baptist, and redshirt-freshman Nolan Hoffman, Colorado School of Mines, transfer to the team while freshmen Bridger Brokaw and Tanner Brown round out the newcomers.

Conference coaches voted the Cowboys to finish third, Cowgirls sixth, in the Mountain West Conference Preseason Poll released on Wednesday. On Monday, the USTFCCCA Mountain Region Preseason Poll dropped with the Wyoming men ranked eighth, four behind Colorado and just one from Colorado State. The women came in at ninth, three spots behind Colorado and two behind Colorado State.
