Laramie, Wyo. (April 20, 2022) -- The Wyoming Cowboys will play their final regular-season tournament of the 2021-22 season this coming Friday and Saturday, April 22 and 23 at the BYU PING Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah.
This year's tournament is the 57th edition of the PING Cougar Classic.
Wyoming will face off against 12 other NCAA Division I collegiate golf programs.
The Cowboys will be playing against four Mountain West Conference opponents in this weekend's event. Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State and Nevada will join the Pokes at the PING Cougar Classic.
This week's final regular-season tournament will lead up to the Mountain West Conference Championship on Friday-Sunday, April 29-May 1 in Bremerton, Wash.
Wyoming has placed among the Top Five teams in four tournaments during the 2021-22 season, including winning its own Wyoming Desert Match Play event in February.
Six different Cowboys have recorded Top 25 finishes this season led by redshirt sophomore
Jimmy Dales, who has five Top 25 finishes in the 10 stroke-play tournaments he competed in this season. Juniors
Kirby Coe-Kirkham and
Tyler Severin along with redshirt freshman
Patrick Azevedo each have three Top 25 showings this season. Senior
Bryce Waters has two, and junior
Jared Edeen has one.
2022 Tournament Field
This year's Cougar Classic tournament field will feature 13 teams: host BYU, Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Dixie State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Pacific, San Diego, St. Mary's, Utah Valley, Washington State and Wyoming.
Nationally Ranked Teams at the PING Cougar Classic
Three of the 13 teams in this week's PING Cougar Classic enter the tournament ranked among the Top 50 teams in the nation by Golfstat (as of the most recent rankings on Tuesday, April 19).
The Nevada Wolf Pack is ranked 34th in the nation. Host BYU is ranked 49th, and Boise State is ranked 50th.

Tournament Format
All teams will play two 18-hole rounds on Friday, April 22 and a final 18-hole round on Saturday, April 23.
